Monica Rapeanu

Co-founder of the ToB International Symposia

Ms. Monica Rapeanu, S.T.L. (Romania) is a graduate of the International Theological Institute for Studies on Marriage and the Family, Austria (www.iti.ac.at). She wrote her Licentiate thesis on Our Lady as Silent Teacher in the Writings of John Henry Newman, under the guidance of Rev. Fr. John Saward.

In 2011, she was received into the Dominican Family (the Order of Preachers) as a Lay Dominican of the Irish Province (Those Dominicans are active online. Here’s a video of Monica discussing the Ascension with Ronan Connolly OP).

She has been serving the Church and the New Evangelization for over twenty years as teacher/lecturer, speaker, catechist, youth leader, editor, translator, writer, volunteer, event organizer and coordinator.

She has developed and taught courses in Mariology (for the Irish Dominican Studium in Dublin, Ireland), The New Evangelization and Theology of the Body. She is also co-founder and co-organizer of the Theology of the Body International Symposia.

She currently writes on bioethical issues (and, occasionally, on other topics) for the monthly Catholic magazine of the Archdiocese of Bucharest, Romania.
